We personally know the restaurant owners, the Salis family, which includes the chef. The cuisine is rooted in Piedmontese tradition, with some interesting variations and personal interpretations.
At Casa Giulia too
On request, the chef is available to cook directly at Casa Giulia, using the ground-floor kitchen, or to arrange a catering service for a dinner with a larger number of guests.

A family-run restaurant offering carefully prepared traditional Piedmontese cuisine of consistently high quality. We also recommend it for its peaceful atmosphere and for anyone looking for a restaurant they can return to, knowing they will always find reliable cooking.

Il Cascinale Nuovo
Isola d'Asti, about 15 minutes from Casa Giulia.
Excellent traditional Piedmontese cuisine in a very attractive setting. The restaurant also has its own workshop, which can be visited, where ravioli and agnolotti—two of the most characteristic filled pastas in Piedmontese cuisine—are made.

Renato Ratti Winery
Annunziata di La Morra — about 30 minutes from Casa Giulia.
Founded by Renato Ratti in Annunziata di La Morra in 1965, the winery holds a particularly important place in the history of Barolo.
Renato Ratti was one of the leading figures in the renewal of winegrowing in the Langhe, and it was here that he produced his first single-vineyard Barolo Marcenasco.

We have known the Ratti family for many years and recommend this visit both for the importance of the winery and its history, and for our personal connection with this place.

Neive — about 15 minutes from Casa Giulia.
A good choice for anyone wishing to explore a wide selection of wines from the area in one place. As well as offering the opportunity to purchase wines, it is a useful place to learn about the different appellations, producers and characteristics of local wines and products.

Cascina Carlòt
Coazzolo — about 10 minutes from Casa Giulia.
It is our preferred supplier for the range and quality of its wines from the Asti area and the Roero, particularly Barbera and Arneis. Cascina Carlòt is a family-run farm, now managed by Claudio Mo, a descendant of the family that has continued its winemaking tradition for generations. Its wines are produced from the estate’s own vineyards, which are tended directly by the family.

We also recommend visiting the winery, both to learn more about its work and to see the distinctive area where the wine is aged in barrels.

Alba
About 25 minutes from Casa Giulia, Alba is well worth visiting as one of the main towns of the Langhe. We particularly recommend going on Saturday morning, when the city comes alive with its market. It is a good opportunity to walk around the historic centre, do some shopping and experience Alba as part of everyday local life.

La Morra
About 35 minutes from Casa Giulia, La Morra is particularly worth visiting for its location. From the panoramic viewpoint, the view extends across the hills of the Langhe and, on the clearest days, as far as the Alps. It is one of the places we recommend for gaining an overall view of the Langhe landscape.

San Donato di Mango
About 25 minutes from Casa Giulia, San Donato is a small hamlet of Mango situated at the top of a hill, approximately 640 metres above sea level. On clear days, there is a wide view over the Tanaro Valley and the surrounding hills, and Castagnole delle Lanze can also be seen directly. We particularly recommend it for its views and peaceful atmosphere.

Climb the panoramic tower
The tower in the Paese Alto is just a few steps from Casa Giulia. From the top, the view extends across Castagnole and the surrounding hills—a visit we particularly recommend on clear days.
The visit must be booked and paid for at the Castagnole delle Lanze Tourist Office, Piazza G. Marconi 13.
